Premier Inn - Angel Islington

If you are going to O2 Islington for a gig, this is the perfect hotel for an overnight stay, it’s right next to the venue.

My husband, Sean, and I stayed there when we went to see Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons for Sean’s 40th birthday. We wanted to make sure that we both had a wicked time and was able to have a drink so I was really surprised that I found a Premier Inn that was really close and just under £100 for the night.

We parked in the underground car park for the shopping centre that the venue is in, it was £30 for 24 hours, considering that’s in London, it’s not bad lol.

When I booked, I saw the option to have a Plus room which had a few little extra perks and seeing as it was a special occasion, I went for it. We got a bigger room, a proper coffee machine, a nice comfy chair, a walk-in shower and a city view. Well, I say a city view, most of our window was frosted so I couldn’t actually see out the window. I had to hold my phone above the frosted line to see our view.

The bed was super comfy and I loved that the bedside tables were tables that were as high as the mattress and were on wheels so we could move them if we needed to.

The shower was amazing, I sometimes find hotel showers can be a bit hit and miss but I didn’t want to get out of this shower. The water pressure was perfect, I had plenty of room to move around and I got the water temperature right straight away.

I didn’t pay for breakfast when I booked but the lovely man on reception let us book a table for breakfast and then we paid in the morning when we turned up to eat. It was a buffet breakfast, we had the cooked breakfast which was mushrooms, sausages, bacon, friend and scrambled eggs, tomatoes, baked beans, black pudding and hash browns. We loved the sausages as they tasted like proper sausage from a butchers, which makes all the difference to us.

There was plenty of cereals, fruit, breads, etc if you didn’t want cooked food.

EP Review - Best Medicine - Revenant

If you haven't already heard of Revenant, you have been missing out, these guys are taking the UK by storm and they are not slowing down.

Their EP - Best Medicine is out on the 11th of April and it is going to rock your socks off because from start to finish, it is full of absolute bangers!!

Public Service Announcement

Love this song! It gets you up off your bum for a right old boogie! It's got such a great energy to it that it will have you jumping around shouting "This is a public service announcement, listen to what I say" even after the song has finished.

Best Medicine

The song is about the singer, Sam, finding the love of his life and falling head over heels in love with her. He can’t eat, he can’t sleep, he’s losing his wits.

I found out in a recent interview with the lads that Sam wasn’t always a singer and after hearing this song, I can’t think of why. He has a brilliant voice and along with the harmonies on this track are just all perfectly put together. Plus, as it is about his personal experience, you can hear the emotion in his voice talking about finding love.

Don’t even get me started on the guitars….ok… they are frigging amazing! Throughout the track, you can hear them

Runaway Rage

A slightly slower track but full of juicy guitar parts that will have you bending like guitar strings. I particularly love the slide guitar parts, I think it's from my years growing up listening to country music that makes this song so appealing to me.

Least I Can Do

This song gives me visions of sitting out in the garden in the sun with a cold drink and having this song playing to bring the chill vibe. It's a song about working hard for what you have and sharing what you have. It's a brilliant feeling good song.

Miss You

A nice acoustic track to finish off the EP. I think this is a after-a-break-up song, it's a bit sad but it has a beautiful melody. I really like the fact it is acoustic so that it stands out against the other songs on the EP.

No Catch - Brighton

This is my favourite vegan place in the whole world! Me and my buddy Carmen do our best to go here whenever we are in Brighton so if you are ever in Brighton, you need to try it.

I absolutely love the vegan cod and chips and curry sauce, it was amazing. I thought it would come out greasy because it’s fast food but it wasn’t greasy at all and it was so tasty.

I don’t know exactly what they put in it to make it taste like it is cod but it is spot on. The chips are perfect as well, nice big chunky chips that are fluffy on the inside but crispy on the outside and the curry sause was perfect as well, proper chip shop curry sauce.

It is a little pricy but the food is worth it and because it is right on the seafront, you can have your food as a takeaway and walk over the road to eat it on the beach.
